We are delighted to announce the return of Sue Ryder’s Horse Trekking event on Sunday 7th June 2015 thanks to our fantastic support of the Coniston Hotel and our partnership with the Pendle Forest and Craven Hunt.

Last year’s ‘Mount Up for Manorlands’ was a fantastic success, giving 180 riders and horses a fantastic day out in the exclusive setting of the Coniston Hotel and the dales. The event raised almost £5,000 for Sue Ryder and our Partners at the hunt and everyone who enters will be supporting the care that their local Sue Ryder centre provides be it Manorlands Hospice, Wheatfields Hospice, Holme Hall or Cuerden Hall.

The Bannister family have kindly allowed us to use their grounds once more and registration is now open for this fantastic charity horse ride through the stunning scenery of the Yorkshire Dales.

Event information

Hosted by the Coniston Hotel, Coniston Cold, our event gives participants the opportunity to tackle some of the fences used for their annual Hunter Trials in the Coniston Estate.

The routes then head out on tracks, quiet lanes and bridleways up the dales towards Malham, before looping back to the start.

The Route

As last year there is just one route of approximately 8 miles which has more optional fences (used for the hunter trials in the Coniston Estate) than the routes we used pre 2014. The route is undulating rather than hilly and a mix or fields, tracks and roads. On leaving the Coniston Estate it heads to Bell Busk and Airton before turning east towards Eshton. It then returns to the Coniston estate for the finish.

Timing

The earliest set off time is 9:30am and the last set off time is 12:30pm . You can arrive at any time within this window.

Pony Hire service

If you’re a rider wishing to take part but don’t have a pony available, our friends at the Kilnsey Trekking and Riding Centre have offered to run a pony hire service for the seven mile route.

For a cost of £40 (in addition to the entry fee) you can collect your pony from the start area and also drop it off there when you have finished. Please contact Jane Pighills on 07836643375 to book your pony before signing up to enter the ride.

Registration

Adults – £20
Under 18s – £10 – must be accompanied by an adult (over 18) and must be under 18 on 7 June 2015.
Team entry – £90 for 5 adults. On the day registration is available subject to capacity – £25 per entrant.
