The Merrell Down & Dirty Obstacle Race presented by Subaru is an obstacle-climbing, trail-blasting race that will push you to your limits. Two courses, 20+ obstacles, one true challenge.
3 Mile Course Description
Mile 1 – Runners leave the beach on a hard packed trail as they loop through the brush. After making a u-turn the trail opens to a wide, flat gravel road perfect for opening up some distance on the competition.
Mile 2 – The course follows a wide dirt trail before looping around the parking lot and up “Heartbreak Hill”! Once runners peak the hill they race back down it and towards the water.
Mile 3 – It is a race down the hard packed beach back to the main event site. With the finish line in sight, runners head for a quick detour into the lake on their way to the MUD!!
6 Mile Course Description
Mile 1 – Runners leave the beach on a hard packed trail and the course immediately splits apart from the 5K and follows the hard packed trail along the beach.
Mile 2 – Runners continue down the beach before turning up a trail into the hills. Mile two has a steady climb as the course narrows with trees on either side.
Mile 3 – Runners work their way downhill through the trails and back out towards the main beach to join up with the 5K course.
Mile 4 – Once on the 5K course, the runners loop through the brush. After making a u-turn the trail opens to a wide, flat gravel road perfect for opening up some distance on the competition.
