Theme and Selection
“The Emotion & Energy of Color 2018” – The Curators for this most recent exciting competition are looking for artwork that represents an artist’s unique interpretation and treatment of a subject as it is communicated through the applications of colors. The dynamic of color, as it provides an abstract language expressing emotion and energy, is a visual statement–perhaps a sharp wit–as an interpretation and reflection of the artist’s environmental perceptions and unique voice.
Colors, as they relate to each other within a piece, may bring forth a flow of myriad spontaneous cerebral reactions as well as visceral sensations that take the viewer deep into the artist’s intentions. These applications of color and the resulting dimensions should inspire the viewer to grasp and absorb stimulating ranges of sensibilities.
We welcome and encourage all entries, which can be created in artistic genres from representational to abstract. Submissions for consideration can be expressed in any of the following aspects: representational, expressionism, surrealism, or abstraction.
This competition helps support the free drawing and painting lessons website “DrawingAndPaintingLessons.com.” No advertising is associated with this site.
