Bellingham Traverse - Solo, Tandem & Team Relay

Course 5.5 mi. GREENWAYS RUN, 6 mi. MTN BIKE, 18 mi. ROAD RIDE, 3.4 mi. TRAIL RUN, 3.6 mi. PADDLE and .65 mi. TEAM TREK to the Boundary Bay Finish Line and Bellingham Block Party.

The Bellingham Traverse is a community event that celebrates the life-cycle of wild salmon, demonstrating the natural and urban challenges of their journey. Solo, tandem and relay teams challenge themselves and one another on a rugged course that highlights the City of Bellingham’s parks, Greenways system, bike-friendly roads, and open water opportunities for recreation.

Event Schedule Friday, September 19th 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm Packet Pickup @ Boundary Bay Only 1 person from your team needs to come to packet pickup. Come pick up your numbers, Traverse pint cups and other goodies. We’ll also have Traverse T-shirts for sale. Boundary Bay Brewery 1107 Railroad Avenue Bellingham, WA 98225 Saturday, September 20th Here’s the rundown on what’s happening during the day. 8:00 am – 11:00 am Packet Pickup @ Boundary Bay 9:00 am – 11:00 am Equipment Staging at Transitions 11:00 am Informational Meeting in Boundary Bay Beer Garden 12:00 pm Start at Farmer’s Market / Boundary Bay 12:00 pm – 5:00 pm Watch at the Traverse Transitions NOTE: The cut off time for boaters to be in the water is 4:30 pm. 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm Watch the Traverse Finish Line at Farmer’s Market / Boundary Bay We close the street and have a block party. There will be a beer garden at the Finish Line on Railroad, so you can swill and cheer on your friends as they finish behind you. After your team finishes the race, have some snacks, and buys some shirts- then you can go get your team photo taken in front of the Traverse backdrop. You’ll feel like a champion! Please pick up your boats as soon as you can from Cornwall. 3:00 pm – 5:30 pm Music in the Lower Traverse Ale Garden (the one you’re used to) 5:30 pm Awards Ceremony in Boundary Beer Garden 6:00 pm We auction off any boats left at Cornwall Beach- if you haven’t picked yours up, we’re selling it to the highest bidder.
