In celebration of the Arctic Biodiversity Congress, the CAFF International Secretariat, in cooperation with sponsors, launch the Arctic Biodiversity “Through the Lens” photography competition.
The eyes of the world are turning northwards. Arctic landscapes, wildlife, cultures and light have inspired people since time immemorial. The Arctic Biodiversity “Through the Lens” photography competition will celebrate the beauty of the Arctic as experienced by photographers of all skill levels.
Participating in the competition
The competition is open to all photography enthusiasts from across the world, provided that the image is taken within CAFF border
The competition welcomes entries across four categories;
A) Arctic biodiversity
B) Landscape in the Arctic
C) Peoples of the North
D) Business and science in the Arctic
There will be one prize winner per category. One grand prize winner will be chosen from submissions by all participants over the age of 18. There will also be one “youth” winner.
Each photographer may submit up to seven images per category.
Winning and selected images will be displayed in an exhibit at the Arctic Biodiversity Congress, December 2-4 2014, in Trondheim, Norway, and will be exhibited across Arctic countries.

Events may occur that render the competition itself or the awarding of the prizes impossible due to reasons beyond the control of the Organiser, and accordingly the Organiser may at its absolute discretion vary or amend the promotion and the entrant agrees that no liability shall attach to the Promoter as a result thereof.
Icelandic law applies and the exclusive jurisdiction of the Icelandic Courts shall prevail.

5. October 2014 "The Closing Date". Entries must be received by 23:00 GMT on Sunday October 5th 2014.
12. October 2014 "Second round". High-res version requested from entrants shortlisted for the second round. images must be submitted to the judges by 19 October.
2. December 2014. Winners and runner-ups announced.
2. December 2014. Opening of photo exhibition at the Arctic Biodiversity Congress in Norway.
