Ice cream athletes rejoice – the 3rd annual Uncle Dave’s Ice Cream Jog ‘n Hog will be held on July 20 (National Ice Cream Day) at 8:30 a.m. at Shady Brook Farm in Bucks County. Registration opens March 17.
Here’s how the race works: Runners will jog about a mile and a half, stop and eat either a quart or a pint of Uncle Dave’s ice cream and then run back to the starting line on expanded stomachs.
The gastrointestinally brave can register in the “Whole Hogger Division,” which involves eating a quart of ice cream at the race’s halfway point. Those who are less confident in their eating ability can register in the “Half Hogger Division,” which involves eating a pint of ice cream.
In addition, racers who form teams of 12 or more people will each receive a $5 refund off their registration one to two weeks after the race. Teams are limited to 20 people.
Registration for the Uncle Dave’s Ice Cream Jog ‘n Hog closes at midnight July 15.
The Jog ‘n Hog is open to everyone age 10 and up. All participants receive a race t-shirt. For more information about Jog ‘n Hog visit www.jognhog.com or “like” Jog ‘n Hog on Facebook, www.facebook.com/jognhog.
