Get down and dirty in our obstacle race!
The Merrell Down & Dirty Obstacle Race presented by Subaru is an obstacle-climbing, trail-blasting race that will push you to your limits. Two courses, 20+ obstacles, one true challenge.
3 Mile Course Description
Mile 1 – The course starts out with a run through the picnic areas of the lower lagoon. Runners will climb down into a river bed, through a tunnel and up the other side on their way to the first obstacles. Just before mile one the trail begins a steady incline.
Mile 2 – Not too long after the mile one marker the course flattens out as runners make their way through a valley before coming to the base of “Heartbreak Hill”! This 50 yard incline will be sure to test your will power. Once at the top take a second to celebrate, it is all downhill for the remainder of the race!
Mile 3 – Runners make their way through camping fields with amazing views of the lake and then work their way down the switchbacks to bring themselves to the base of the mountain. A last push back through the picnic area and then it is time to get muddy!
6 Mile Course Description

Mile 3 – Runners begin a steady incline making their way towards the back of the valley.
Mile 4 – The trail continues along the ridgeline with the lake on the left and the valley on the right.
Mile 5 – Runners will follow the trail as it bends away from the lake and descends through the valley. 10K’ers will join the 5K course at the top of “Heartbreak Hill” and continue down the trail.
Mile 6 – Runners make their way through camping fields with amazing views of the lake and then work their way down the switchbacks to bring themselves to the base of the mountain. A last push back through the picnic area and then it is time to get muddy!
