The PieceWalk was born to give Oklahoma families affected by autism a day of togetherness, a day to support awareness in our state, and a means to support Oklahoma autism programs. With over 7,500 walkers and 700 runners participating in the event each year, it is the largest autism event in our state. Year after year we hear what a difference it makes to our local Oklahoma families to have a day of our own where no one is judged and melt downs are expected and not frowned upon. The PieceWalk Resource Fair provides a way for families to learn about autism supports, therapies, products, and services that are offered in our state. And most importantly, the event includes entertainment for everyone with face-painting, fun characters, music, and fun tables. There is something for everyone!
100% of the PieceWalk funds are used for autism programming in Oklahoma.
The goal of the PieceWalk is to fund projects in Oklahoma that will improve awareness, education, and quality of life for families and individuals affected by autism. We have a significant grass roots network of families who are involved with us to help their loved ones. Autism Oklahoma has experienced exponential growth over the past several years. Last year, we targeted our programs to impact individuals, hundreds of people and thousands of people with our clubs, summer camps, parent support groups, and outreach programs. We are committed to providing a platform for families to help each other and will remain true to our goals and mission of serving Oklahomans affected by autism. You can learn about all our programs on our website, www.AutismOklahoma.org.
AutismOklahoma.org is a statewide 501c3 organization that is 100% funded by donations.
