HUDSON VALLEY HOMEBREWERS 24th ANNUAL HOMEBREW COMPETITION
The Hudson Valley Homebrewers, a local area home brewing club, have announced their 24th Annual Homebrew Competition and chili cook-off, which will be held March 15th at the American Legion, 55 Overlook Road in Poughkeepsie.
This event provides valuable feedback to home brewers, great prizes to the winners, and an entertaining day for entrants, guests ,and those who participate as judges and stewards. The competition is open to all amateur brewers.
Entries will be accepted from Saturday, February 22, 2014 to the deadline, Saturday March 8, 2014 at 12:00 Noon. An awards ceremony will commence immediately following the conclusion of the judging (approximately 5PM) and is open to all entrants and guests. Awards will be presented for first, second and third place in each category. Entrants need not be present to win.
In addition to the Homebrewing competition, the club will once again have a chili cook-off. This competition is open to all amateur chefs and cooks. Guest, judges, and stewards who are at the Homebrew competition awards ceremony will be invited to sample and vote for the chili of their choice. A prize will be awarded for first place based on the “people’s choice”.
Hudson Valley Homebrewers are also soliciting volunteers to be judges and stewards to assist with this event. If you have experience with previous home brew competitions and would like to help you can contact one of the competition organizers.
