The Bronte Sportive is a well established and challenging cycling event in Bronte Country, West Yorkshire. This year our courses have been altered to encompass as much of the route taken by the Tour de France Grand Depart Yorkshire as possible.
There are 4 different route distances: 23, 55, 71.4 & 88 miles. The longest three routes cover 30 miles of stage 2 Tour, including the stunning sections through Haworth, Bronte Country, Penistone Hill, Cock Hill, and the descent into Hebden Bridge. They also include England’s longest constant incline of 6.42 miles up Cragg Vale and the stunning descent into Ripponden. Even the 20 mile option takes in 7.4 miles of the route including Haworth, Penistone Hill and Oxenhope.
All routes start and finish at Leeds City College in Keighley which has excellent transport links. Every entrant will receive a complementary BBQ meal at the finish and a goody bag put together by our main sponsor All Terrain Cycles! Each bag will contain a medal and a new inner tube, plus other goodies.
The Bronte Sportive is organised by national healthcare charity Sue Ryder, your entry fee and any sponsorship money that you raise for us will help support your local Sue Ryder care centre. There is no obligation to raise sponsorship, but we are very grateful to those who do.
